Golden Globe winners: The complete list

Who won big at the 2012 Golden Globe Awards? There weren’t too many surprises, but the big question is: Will the honor translate into Oscars?

George Clooney

Michelle Williams is on top of the world tonight after nabbing the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical for her portrayal of Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe in My Week with Marilyn.

“Thank you to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for putting in my hand the same award that Marilyn Monroe herself won over 50 years ago,” Williams said as she accepted the award.

Meryl Streep won for Best Actress in a Drama for her dead-on portrayal of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady, swearing up a storm during her speech because she left her reading glasses at her seat.

George Clooney was a shoo-in for Best Actor in a Drama for The Descendants and the decision did not disappoint. He used his precious moments on stage to razz buddy Brad Pitt and joke about Michael Fassbender’s penis size. Hopefully if (when?) he wins the Oscar later this year, we’ll get more of the same.
