Sketch of Christian Grey looks a lot like Val Kilmer

Val Kilmer isn’t exactly who we had in mind when we envision Christian Grey, but one British professor thinks that’s exactly the way the dominant Grey looks. How in the world did she come up with that?

The Buzz – Fifty Shades of Grey Author Makes Fans Cry at Comic-Con
Fans were waiting since 4AM to meet the Fifty Shades of Grey author at Comic-Con, and when they did, they couldn’t control their tears!

Everyone from Alexander Skarsgard to Channing Tatum has been mentioned as men that breathless Fifty Shades of Grey fans want to take the role of Christian Grey. However, we’re starting to think they need to pay Val Kilmer to lose about 75 lbs. to play the role.

Why? An artist’s Christian Grey sketch looks a whole heck of a lot like a Top Gun-era Kilmer. Seriously — go judge for yourself. Eerily similar, right?

Professor Dr. Faye Skelton of the University of Central Lancashire interviewed 12 women and used their descriptions of the dominant Grey to create the composite sketch. By large, the women described Grey as having Brad Pitt’s jawline, Patrick Dempsey’s eyes and other features courtesy of Johnny Depp, David Beckham and Tatum.

So, a love child between these fine men would create Kilmer? Cool. We wonder how he feels about looking like the man responsible for a big BDSM-tinged baby boom that’s reportedly happening these days. We bet he’d be pretty stoked — his career hasn’t been that exciting in years.

Alas, we still don’t know who will really take on the role of Grey, but we might not have to wait much longer. The producers behind The Social Network have just signed on to create the film and Universal won the bidding war for the movie rights.

“At its core, Fifty Shades of Grey is a complex love story, requiring a delicate and sophisticated hand to bring it to the big screen,” Universal co-chair Donna Langley told the New York Daily News. “Mike and Dana’s credits more than exemplify what we need in creative partners, and we’re glad to have them as part of our team.”

It sounds like they want to push out a film as quickly as possible to capitalize on the world’s obsession for the series.
