Let’s go glamping

Glamping is the new way to camp in luxury. Forget about roughing it and check out these glamping spots across the country.

Glamping tents

What do you get when you combine glamour and camping? Glamping! If you love the idea of being outdoors but don’t like the thought of sleeping on a dirt floor, wrestling with tent poles and using nature’s backdrop as a bathroom, this luxury camping trend is for you. With glamping, you can experience the beauty of the outdoors, then settle in for the night under luxurious linens, often with running water and electricity at your fingertips. Safari tents, yurts and canvas cabins provide well-appointed living space for your outdoor adventure. Camping has never looked so good!

Treebones Resort

You’ll enjoy breathtaking views of California’s Big Sur coastline from the comfort of your own yurt at Treebones Resort. But what in the world is a yurt? It’s a circular tent-like fabric structure with wood lattice framing, reminiscent of a big top circus tent. The yurts at Treebones are appointed with heat sources, electric lighting and hot and cold water sinks, along with a sky dome for star gazing. Bathrooms facilities are nearby as well as an outdoor sushi bar with sunset views.

Cherry Wood Bed Breakfast and Barn

Take a trip to Washington’s Yakima Valley for wine tasting and some serious relaxing at Cherry Wood Bed Breakfast and Barn. After your day of sampling delicious Washington wines, check in to Cherry Wood’s teepees that offer a luxurious and romantic glamping experience. With down comforters, private bathroom facilities and an open-air shower, you’ll feel like you’re at a five-star hotel. Take a dip under the stars in their Twilight Tubs or go horseback riding. They even offer winery tours on horseback… no designated driver required!

Yellowstone Under Canvas

Enjoy this quiet and secluded African-inspired glamping spot located 10 minutes outside of Yellowstone National Park. At Yellowstone Under Canvas, safari tents accommodate up to two adults and two children with all the amenities of a hotel, including an on-site restaurant. Upgrade to a deluxe safari tent that offers wood burning stoves, wood floors, private bathrooms, patios and superior views. If you’d like a night away from the kids, rent them a tipi to be placed right next to your safari tent. They’ll love a night under the stars away from mom and dad.

El Capitan Canyon

Located in the midst of historic oak and sycamore groves, El Capitan Canyon Campground in Santa Barbara, California, offers glamping along El Capitan Creek. Visitors can stay throughout the canyon at one of 108 individual cedar cabins or 26 safari tents. You’ll hardly know you’re camping if you rent a cabin, appointed with private bathrooms, kitchenettes, wet bars and even wireless access. If that’s a little too modern for you, rough it in a safari tent where you still have electric lights, but at least there’s no microwave or mini-fridge!
