MTV star claims alleged Aurora shooter called him

The Pimp My Ride star said he received a couple phone calls from a man asking about the guns in his Batman movie.

Dave AragonAn MTV star told a news radio station, KNX 1070 in Los Angeles, that he believes alleged Aurora shooter James Holmes called him before the mass shooting last month that left 12 people dead.

Pimp My Ride’s Diggity Dave [Aragon] told KNX 1070’s Charles Feldman that a young man who called himself ‘James Holmes’ phoned him in June about his upcoming film, The Suffocator of Sins,” said the station.

Aragon cannot confirm who was calling him but after the shooting he got the feeling it might be the same James Holmes.

“Dave wrote, directed and stars in the forthcoming takeoff of the Batman movie, which shows a young Batman shooting down evil doers,” said KNX. “Some have said the YouTube trailer resembles a crowded movie theater. He describes the film as a ‘very sick and dark twist of the Batman movies.’”

The man who was calling Aragon had said he had watched the trailer more than 100 times and was upset that the character “didn’t use bigger guns.”

The Daily Mail said the film is about a vigilante Batman.

“He would tell me what he really liked about the trailer,” said Aragon. “He kept pressing if I could give him more information on the story. He wanted to know how many people Batman kills. He wanted to know if it was selective killing. Does he make a list of people he wants to kill or is it a mass body count?”

Aragon has offered no proof the man was actually James Holmes, the 24-year-old man suspected of killing 12 people during a midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, Colorado in July.

According to MTV, Aragon is “The Pimp My Ride accessories master by day and lead singer by night for the band Dead Boys Club.”
