There are so many ways to raise your baby in an eco-friendly manner but some key points are bigger than others.
Use cloth diapers- Breastfeed
- Paint the nursery with non-toxic paint
- Buy an energy efficient washer (how many loads of laundry a year do babies create? I don't even want to know)
- Buy organic baby clothing and bedding
- Use energy efficient light bulbs in the nursery lamp
- Make or buy organic baby food
- Check out baby books from the library instead of buying them (this one is hard for me; but it is a great tip)
- Use non-toxic cleaners around the house
- Buy fair trade coffee. Coffee! How does this relate to a baby? Believe me, you'll need it and fair-trade is more eco-friendly than conventional.
