Well, I can't recommend tossing little ones high into the air but if you're talking airplanes -- then I can help. Your baby should wait to fly until he's about 8 to 10 weeks old. This serves the purpose of him having his first series of immunizations taken care of a few weeks before he flies. This way you make sure that one, he's not going to have a reaction mid-air (to a vaccine) and also that he's protected with a stronger immune system. If your baby is under a year when you fly then he does need a rear facing seat on the plane. It's not recommended that you hold your baby on an airplane anymore he does need his own seat. At a year old he can use a front facing seat and usually by the time he weighs 40 pounds he can sit free style in a regular airplane seat. And don't forget -- take plenty of board books and small toys. The first flight with a little can be overwhelming and activities really help.
