Pregnancy is not the time to throw caution to the wind when it comes to sex. In fact there are plenty of reasons to be safe sex savvy during pregnancy. I used to work with pregnant and parenting teens. I had a pregnant client once who told me that she wasn't using condoms because it wasn't like she was going to get pregnant. She sure wasn't going to get pregnant since of course she already was but not using condoms during pregnancy can be super risky. If you are not in a committed and safe relationship with an individual. Or you aren't 100% sure that your partner is having sex with you and you only than you need to protect not only your own health but your baby's health as well. Even though you're pregnant you can still get a sexually transmitted disease (STD). If you get an STD during pregnancy it can lead to premature birth, miscarriage, Cesarean births, stillbirth, low birth weight, or your baby may be born with various infections. Not to mention, if you do acquire an STD during pregnancy than you may have to take medications that aren't entirely safe for your baby. You need to protect yourself and your baby because you're both worth it. Use a condom every single time you have sex with a partner you don't completely trust.
