Not according to this month's Baby Talk. The magazine interviewed Stacey Rubin, author of an upcoming book, The ABC's of Breastfeeding and she noted no. wine_-_glass.jpgAccording to Baby Talk, it's better to feed you baby before you have that glass of wine because after -- even if you pump, trace amounts of alcohol can linger in your breastmilk. After 2-3 hours all the alcohol will likely be out of your system and thus not end up in your baby. The bottom line if you have to pump and dump because that's your only option go ahead but a smarter and healthier baby choice is to feed your baby and then have a drink. Other options can be to pump before hand if your baby is not hungry yet and give him the breastmilk in a bottle or you can also give formula if you are comfortable with that decision. It's smart to always consider that what goes in you goes in your baby if you breastfeed.
