If you want to make homemade baby food, but aren't quite sure where to start, try these easy mash-ready food items. To make a meal for baby simply cook, cool, mash. To cook just steam or boil until super soft. Stir in a little breast milk or formula to get the mash to the right consistency for your baby.   3. Yams
  4. Mangos
  5. Winter squash
  6. Apples
  7. Cauliflower
  8. Bananas - this one you can skip the cooking step, so long as it's ripe.
