Do you know what the number one best safe toy tip is? Read the consumer label. Many parents don't read the label offered on toys, and this is a huge mistake. Labels are there for a reason. Toy labels or manufacture recommendations tell you if a toy is appropriate for your baby's stage and age. There's a reason these labels and recommendations exist. Each year over 150,000 children are treated in the hospital due to toy related injuries, and many of these injuries are related to small children choking on toys meant for older kids. During the holidays and the rest of the year, don't play guessing games when choosing toys for your child. Read the labels which will tell you what age group can safely have the toy. Also, be sure to read labels of toys given to your child as gifts. In my experience, people without kids and grandparents tend to give toys that look cool, but that may not be age appropriate.
