Breastfeed for a healthy baby body and teeth. Make sure you
clean your baby's gums and teeth properly. Aim for a healthy diet. Food types DO affect your baby's teeth. For example, sugar and starch mix with mouth bacteria which creates acids that can dissolve teeth enamel and cause cavities. You don't need to ban foods, but you should clean your baby's mouth after he eats starchy or sugary foods. Tots older than one year of age can drink fluoridated water. Many towns add fluoride to their water, but if your town doesn't, talk to your baby's doctor or dentist about supplementing fluoride drops.
SAFETY NOTE: Fluoride can be a poison is large amounts so never leave fluoride out within reach of your baby.
