Recently in an astounding move the Lancet retracted their highly read (and believed by parents) paper that linked vaccines to autism. Now in related news, a federal court ruled Friday that their is not enough evidence supporting a causal link between autism and a mercury-containing preservative in vaccines and and that the families of children diagnosed with autism are not entitled to compensation from the vaccine companies. According to a CNN report on the matter, "Special masters of the U.S. Court of Federal Claims released more than 600 pages of findings after reviewing three test cases and finding all the claims wanting." We'll see what comes of this. There are still parents out there who believe that autism may be linked to vaccines, but without supporting evidence, there's not going to be much recourse.
