If you're a parent of a baby or young child one of the smartest moves you can make is to take an infant and child CPR and first aid class. More and more I'm meeting parents who have invested their time in these life saving classes which rocks. That said, something to consider is that you do need to refresh your CPR skills. I know it's hard to make the time because you're busy, but studies show that parents who practice their CPR skills at least once every few weeks retain their skills better and perform CPR skills better when confronted with a baby emergency. Make sure you practice on a baby doll though, not your own baby. You should also take a professionally taught CPR class every two years. Studies show that CPR and first aid skills tend to drop off after two years without a refresher course. Plus skills related to CPR and first aid are always changing and evolving. You'll learn new and helpful tips with a new class. Learn more:
