|When it comes to your baby's nursery, you might think there's too much to do and too little time! We have good news for you: Getting started on your nursery project is as easy as A, B, C...||
It's an oft-forgotten space, but every room has one: a ceiling. Ann Douglas, author of The Mother of All Pregnancy Books, says, "When you are decorating, remember that as the months go on, your baby is going to spend a lot of time lying on his or her back. Doesn't it only make sense then to pay attention to the ceiling as well?"
Ann says that you don't have to spend a fortune to make the ceiling shine. "Inexpensive ways to jazz up the ceiling include suspending fabric kites, or allowing fabric to billow through a series of hanging rings."
Your options don't end there. "Papering the ceiling is ideal for a nursery since babies are always looking up. This is becoming more and more popular," says Susan Lenahan, senior design director for Imperial Home Decor Group.
And one essential tip on tone: Dark colors can make the ceiling seem lower, while lighter shades reflect more and will make the room feel more spacious. Often, decorators choose to paint the ceiling with a slightly lighter tint than the color on the walls to subtly trick the eye.
