|When it comes to your baby's nursery, you might think there's too much to do and too little time! We have good news for you: Getting started on your nursery project is as easy as A, B, C...||
As for placement of furnishings and accessories, you should consider not only practicality but also emphasis. What will be the room's focal point? Do you have a special painting or poster that is central -- one that ties the whole theme of the room together?
"The design concept can be based around a specific piece of furniture," says interior designer Pam O'Hallaron of Posh Tots [PoshTots.com]. "Heirloom furniture with decorative hardware, area rugs and new linens make a nursery very special."
Perhaps your focus might be a crib with a beautiful canopy, or a comfy window seat with a scattering of stuffed animals. Or maybe you want to try something a little different: "We put a 10-gallon aquarium in the nursery," says Teri, a mom due with her second child in September. "The water sound is soothing, and my two-year-old now loves to watch his 'sheshies' (fishes)."
