For so long, children's furniture has been restricted to the nursery. For parents who love sleek, modern design, Jennifer DeLonge's children's furniture seamlessly transforms grown-up spaces into sophisticated yet child-friendly family rooms that are imaginative and playful. Jennifer, a designer by trade and a full time mom, became inspired to create the line while vacationing with her husband Tom DeLonge, frontman for Blink-182 and the new Angels & Airwaves. "I wanted to design pieces that had the same quality and construction as high-end adult furniture, but built on a smaller scale especially for kids," she says. Jennifer DeLongeYour question:
I designed our son's nursery in blue -- yes blue -- but with black accents. The black comes courtesy of magnetic black board paint and it took on a life of its own with the room.
We collected artwork over the last nine months, including vintage rock posters, old photography, mid-century abstract art and kitschy 70's juvenile animal prints that will all be incorporated onto a large wall to create a collage.
There is not a direct theme in the room, but rather the design is based on colors. Once you have that set, it seems to take on a life of its own.
