Mom jeans you’ll be proud to wear

In days gone by, moms didn’t have much choice when it came to jeans. Once you got out of the junior department, the available pants were the dreaded mom jeans with outdated styles and unflattering silhouettes. Fortunately, that’s all changed now. Today’s mom jeans are no longer embarrassing. Check out these mom jeans that you’ll be proud to wear.

1Boot-cut jeans

If skinny jeans aren’t for you, pick out a pair of flattering, slim bootcut jeans instead. Bootcut jeans can balance out wide hips and elongate the look of your legs. Buy two pairs — one to wear with flats and the other to wear with heels.

Wide leg trouser jeans are popular right now and a fabulous choice for moms. Trouser jeans fall uniformly, creating the look of a longer, leaner leg. Trouser jeans can be worn just about anywhere, from the office to the ballpark.

3A little help

You can get a little help from your jeans these days. Many brands feature pants with a built-in tummy panel to hide any bulges and imperfections. Even if you don’t need any assistance in your midsection, look for jeans with a touch of spandex for comfort and ease of movement.

Jean style tips

The rise

High-rise jeans are not flattering for most figures. Instead, choose jeans that sit at or right below your natural waistline. A low-rise jean will make your rear-end look smaller. Just make sure that it’s not so low that you can see your panties. Avoid jeans with a tight waistband — unless you like the look of the muffin top.

The wash

To look your slimmest, wear a dark wash jean. If you are lucky enough to be on the slender side, you can go with a lighter blue wash. For pear-shaped figures, flared jeans help balance out the hips and thighs. For apple-shaped figures, stick to a mid-rise jean rather than low-rise.

The pockets

Many women don’t realize the importance of pockets. If you have a flat rear-end, look for jeans with flap pockets or low pockets to make your butt look bigger and rounder. If you have an ample rear-end, pick jeans with medium-sized pockets that aren’t too high or too low.
