If you want to know how the contestants on The X Factor always dress to impress, June Ambrose is the source of their style wisdom. She gave SheKnows a few quick tips for how you too can achieve an everyday The X Factor look.
The X Factor foundation: The shoes
Kristofer Buckle, June’s glam squad co-worker on The X Factor, made the important point of a great base when it comes to makeup. With fashion, it’s no different.
“The start to a really good outfit is the foundation, which is the pumps,” she said. Every woman should own a classic black pump to achieve effortless style, but to give your outfit the x factor, try something with a little more edge. A black bootie for instance.
June simply said, “A black bootie, everyone needs.”
The X Factor hit: The blouse
June knows how to put the X in fashion. For Jenni, our lucky SheKnows reader, June explains the importance of picking the right top.
“Because she likes tops with embellishment, I’m feeling a very boho chic kind of top. It’s blousy; it’s not body conscience, which I feel like you’re more comfortable in pieces that accentuate little things.”
In fact, all three glam squad experts have explained the importance wearing things that make you feel natural and comfortable and rid whatever distracts from that.
June continued to explain that an embellished top like the one she put on Jenni doesn’t need extra assistance from accessories. It’s two steps in one.
The X Factor encore: The jacket
No look is complete without outerwear. June picked a snakeskin cropped bomber for Jenni, completing her chic look. This piece gave the outfit something June calls shock value.
“If you’re like me, you like building a workable wardrobe so you have to have that other piece that gives you that shock value,” she said.
As Jenni put on the jacket, June explained that despite being a statement piece, you can wear it with just about anything.
“You can wear this with so many different things. You can wear this with a gown at night. You can wear it during the day with a T-shirt.”
June sent Jenni off with The X Factor style, ready for the rest of her makeover.
