Demi Moore has released a statement confirming the end of her six-year marriage with Ashton Kutcher.
After news broke of Ashton Kutcher‘s alleged tryst with Sara Leal, it seemed as though Demi Moore and Kutcher, her husband of six years, were trying to work things out. Looks like the reconciliation didn’t work out for the couple, as Moore has officially announced she’s decided to end her marriage.
“It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton,” Moore said in a statement released by her publicist earlier today.
“As a woman, a mother and a wife, there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life. This is a trying time for me and my family, and so I would ask for the same compassion and privacy that you would give to anyone going through a similar situation.”
Kutcher reacted to his soon-to-be ex-wife’s statement by reaching out via his Twitter account:
“I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi. Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail. Love and Light, AK.”
In late September, Kutcher was accused of sleeping with 22-year-old Sara Leal in San Diego, on the date of his six-year wedding anniversary with Moore. Ever since then, things have been rocky between the two, despite speculation that they seemed to be working things out.
