3 Ways to celebrate yourself today

If you don’t look a certain way, have a certain job or believe a certain thing, you might not feel like you measure up to what you should be — but the only person you should be is yourself. Here are three ways to celebrate yourself today.

1Think about what you’ve accomplished and smile

If you’re like a lot of women, you’re always striving to be a better you. Odds are you’re better than what you were yesterday, though, and you’re surely in a better place than you were 10 years ago. Celebrate growing and being an adult. Life might have wound up being a little more difficult than you imagined, but did you reach those major milestones you foresaw as a young girl? Did you score that big job? Have you mastered that hobby you always wanted to try? Realize that, slowly but surely, you’re becoming the woman you’ve always wanted to be. Keeping your priorities in line so you don’t sweat the small stuff.

2Do the little things that make you feel good

Whether it’s working out at the gym or buying that pair of heels , you should do the things that make you feel good about yourself. Reward your day-to-day hard work with a token of accomplishment. That way, when you break out those heels during a nerve-riddled interview, they remind you that once conquered something you didn’t think you could. That interview should be a piece of cake, as long as you’re rockin’ those accomplishment heels.

3Stop criticizing what you see in the mirror

Being critical of your looks never pays off. It just leads to poor self-esteem and unnecessary worrying. So just stop! Every time a bad thought creeps into your head, push it out immediately with a positive one. The harder you are on yourself, the harder it’s going to be to measure up. Do little things that make you feel good about the way you look, but don’t pine for a smaller nose, larger breasts or smaller hips. Someone, somewhere is envious of the way you look. Flaunt it and feel good about you. Confidence is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself.
