Painted canvas art
One of the least expensive DIY options for a unique nursery sign is a painted canvas — all you need to buy are the canvases and the paint. Painted hanging letters
If painting freehand is a little too advanced or time consuming for you, try this simpler project, which simply involves painting wooden signs. As easy as buying hanging letters and painting, this super cute DIY won’t take much time at all. Keep costs low by purchasing inexpensive letters from Craft Cuts.com, where many cost less than $1 each! The great thing about this project is that you can customize the colors and the shape to fit your nursery’s theme perfectly. For some incredible painted sign and nursery inspiration (and envy!), check out the vintage tea party themed nursery by Blair Mott, of The Ellwood Chronicle’s. For her sign, she outlined the letters in deep purple, then painted the inside bright pink for the perfect pop of color.
