Remember this game? Here's this weeks random picks. Baby boy: Talbot, "possibly a contraction of the Old English, Botolph's River. The ancient English family, Talbot, gave their name to the large, intelligent hound with an exceptional sense of smell." Hmmm, isn't this a clothing line? I don't think it's that bad actually. I like how Talbot sounds but not sure I love the meaning, 'an intelligent hound' that seems not so baby friendly. Baby Girl: Cassandra, "from the Greek entangler of men." I like Casandra. I like Cass and Cassie too, which is good to think about because often people will shorten your baby's name to their liking. I'm a Jennifer, as we all know, and I hate (and my mom did too) when people shorten my name to Jenny or Jennie. I'm semi ok with 'Jen' but honestly prefer the name I came with. There's a good tip I don't answer to Jenny! I don't think Talbot can be shortened. Make sure to consider nicknames when choosing the perfect name for your baby. Speaking of choosing the perfect baby name, let's ask Stacey, our mama of the day, how she decided on her daughters beautiful names. Their names, in case you forgot are; Rowyn, Syenna, Wynter, Lily, and Vyolette. Stacey says, "My husband insisted on a "y" in all of their names so I had to get creative in their spelling (obviously). Syenna was chosen for the Italian city of, as I was working on a story centered around that beautiful place, and Wynter was born on Christmas. While Holly and Noelle (or even Merry) are quite nice names, I couldn't be that normal." Picking all names with a "y" would be tough. I think Stacey did a great job. I especially love the name Wynter. Very pretty. So, do any of you like the names this week? Is that little girl in your belly an entangler of men? And what about Stacey's husband; wanting "y" in each name? How much influence did or does your partner have in your baby naming process?
