There are so many ways to celebrate a birth. You can buy a piece of birth art like the beautiful painting below, have a party, plant a tree, or best of all; tell your birth story. Stacey, with her five girls, has more than one birth story of course, so I asked her to narrow it down to one favorite. art_birthrhythm-191×250.jpgHere's Stacey's amazing (and funny) tale of little Wynter's birth...
"Wynter's birth was the most memorable if not the craziest. My husband woke up at 4am on Christmas morning with a toothache. His rumbling around woke me up and that's when I noticed I had a slight pain in my belly. I called my doctor across town who knew I had fast births and she told me to go across the street to the hospital when I felt it was time. Well, it was time NOW. My husband threw me in the car, drove me across the street where I leaped out at the emergency room doors. I waddled/ran and yelled out, "I'm having a baby!" Dead silence. The four people in ER just stared at me. So, for emphasis, I screamed out, "NOW! $)($*@($*@$". One of the security officers realized a baby was going to be born on the ER floor if he didn't hurry so he helped me into a wheelchair and ran to the maternity ward. Upon reaching the room, I tore out of the chair, lifted my nightgown and jumped on the bed the best I could. Wynter's head was already crowning and my husband wasn't there yet. The nurses told me to stop pushing. Er, no. Bryan burst into the room to see the nurse catch Wynter as she came flying out of me a whole twelve minutes after we arrived. Because it was Christmas and I had two little girls at home, I rested the remainder of the day and Wynter and I went home that evening."
I love Stacey's birth story! As a birth junkie I do tend to love all birth stories; but don't usually see such humorous ones. It's a wonderful twist to an already amazing event. You can write your birth story too. Don't worry about making it like Stacey's or your best friends; your birth story is yours alone and is wonderful no matter what. The story of your baby's birth makes a great addition to a baby book or your child's keepsake box. I've never met a child who doesn't love to know about the events surrounding their birth.
