A recent study shows that there's one step that you can take to lower your daughters chances of developing breast cancer later in life by eating one nutritious item. What item? Foods that are packed with omega-3 fatty acids. Research says it may reduce your daughter's chances of developing breast cancer later in life by a full 90%. That's outstanding! You have to make sure that during your daughter's childhood you keep up the same habits and give her plenty of healthy omega-3 packed foods. Some foods with tons of omega-3 fatty acids include:
- Oily fish like salmon, herrings, and sardines (um, not so tasty) other fish still has omega-3 just not in such high quantities.
- Flax; available in seed, oil, and ground up. The ground up kind has less omega-3 but you can sprinkle it into spaghetti sauce, oatmeal, and baked goods and no one will ever know.
- Eggs marked as omega-3 eggs -- the chickens are fed a special diet that produces higher levels of omega-3.
- Some milks and cheeses (read your labels).
