A recent study shows that there's one step that you can take to lower your daughters chances of developing breast cancer later in life by eating one nutritious item. 563032_almonds_1.jpgWhat item? Foods that are packed with omega-3 fatty acids. Research says it may reduce your daughter's chances of developing breast cancer later in life by a full 90%. That's outstanding! You have to make sure that during your daughter's childhood you keep up the same habits and give her plenty of healthy omega-3 packed foods. Some foods with tons of omega-3 fatty acids include:
  • Oily fish like salmon, herrings, and sardines (um, not so tasty) other fish still has omega-3 just not in such high quantities.
  • Flax; available in seed, oil, and ground up. The ground up kind has less omega-3 but you can sprinkle it into spaghetti sauce, oatmeal, and baked goods and no one will ever know.
  • Eggs marked as omega-3 eggs -- the chickens are fed a special diet that produces higher levels of omega-3.
  • Almonds
  • Some milks and cheeses (read your labels).
