A new study conducted by Warwick Medical School researchers reports that women who don't get enough sleep are at more risk of developing health issues than men who don't get enough sleep. By not enough sleep the researchers figure on less than five hours a night -- which many of us with babies or small children have done. Many times I've had short sleep nights and you as a busy mama likely have too. Women who slept less than five hours a night often are shown to have more instances of hypertension which also includes certain cardiovascular problems; than women sleeping more than seven hours a night on a regular basis. Men sleeping either less than five hours or more than seven did not have the same results. Men sleeping less than five hours had no increased risk for hypertension. Still, we know the risks but it's finding the time to sleep that can be the issue. Taking naps when your baby or toddler sleeps is the best advice I know. Forget the laundry, bathroom cleaning, and email and just sleep. Here's some other reading that can help you get some shut-eye. What do you do to get the sleep you need?
