Something we don't consider until we have kids is who will babysit. How to choose a sitter. Which sitter is best. Should you ever go out again. Lots of sitter questions pop up after you have a baby and sometimes it seems scary but you can choose a reliable sitter and your reward will be some much needed you time.
  1. Ask all your friends with kids which babysitter they use. Believe me your mama friends are far more reliable sources than even the finest 5 star sitter scoping service. Trusted mama sources don't mess around and will never recommend a dud.
  2. Interview: Even a highly recommended sitter should still be interviewed by you because this sitter may not jive with you or your baby. Is she CPR and first aid certified? What would she do if someone knock at your door? Does she have transportation. Fees, scheduling, and references are all applicable questions to go over at a babysitter interview.
  3. Have your little at the interview so you can see how the sitter interacts with her. Does she seem to really enjoy kids and be comfortable around them or does she jump a little when your baby screams. Does she get down on the floor with the baby? How well does she listen?
Sometimes just a gut feeling you get during the interview process and the interactions with your baby will seal or break the deal. Trust what you're feeling and the vibes that the sitter gives off.
