Each week, on Tuesday, we play random baby names here at Pregnancy & Baby. Today, we had the random name Cassia - which is an herb. wild flowersIt got me thinking about how much I like herbs, flowers, and just plants in general for baby names. Not everyone does, but it appeals to some people. My own son's name is Cedar. He's actually named after the Cedar tree. Before he was born, his dad and I traveled a lot. One of our favorite places we traveled to was Red Lodge, Montana. In Red Lodge, there are tons of beautiful Cedar trees - you can smell them everywhere. I like a lot of other plant-based names though as well. Following are some cool names you might want to consider for your little plant and nature loving baby.
  • Sage
  • Sequoia -oddly enough, my son, Cedar had a friend named this - two little tree kids.
  • Bayflower baby names
  • Sorrel - this is one of my favorites, it's a little forest rose.
  • Rosemary - or just Rose
  • Myrtle
  • Angelica
  • Cypress
  • Jasmine
  • Lavender - I think this makes a better last name
  • Basil
  • Lily
  • Violet
  • Cherry
  • Aspen
  • Holly
  • Daphne
  • Fennel
  • Cicely
  • Saffron
  • Daisy - this was one of the names on our girl name list
  • Willow
  • Olive
  • Amber
  • Petunia
  • Camellia

  • Clover
  • Heather
  • Iris
  • Nerola

  • Marigold
  • Curry

  • Bluebell

This is off the top of my head; I know there's more though. What other plant based names do you like?
