The third trimester creates some interesting situations when it comes to eating and nutrition.

third trimester

Follow the basic 2nd trimester eating plan. You won't have to change too much. If you weren't eating smaller, more frequent meals already, you'll want to try this now. Your belly is getting huge and it makes you feel full faster, and uncomfortable if you eat too much at one sitting. Heartburn can kick in hardcore during the last trimester. To manage heartburn, the smaller meals can help, limit overly spicy foods, drink lots of water, cut out as much caffeine as you can (you know, that single cup of coffee you'd been enjoying each day), and cook all veggies. Raw veggies can increase gas. The end of pregnancy can be uncomfortable, so you may be more likely to just relax, and eat sweets, but don't! The more pregnancy pounds you pack on the harder it will be to lose them. Try to maintain some exercise each day, even if you're just walking around the neighborhood. If you feel so full you can't eat much at all, talk to your health care provider. With labor coming up, you want to be super healthy, and have the right nutrition for your body. If food seems like too much, a healthy smoothie goes down easier. Also read:  Being overweight affects pregnancy and labor Factors that increase pain during labor and childbirth
