Last week we had some rather odd names; hopefully this week we get some more user friendly baby names. Baby girl: Victoria, from the Latin, 'victorious'. Baby boy: Kentigern, from the Gaelic name Ceanntigher, 'chief lord'. I know so many people who love the name Victoria; but it's just not my style. It's always reminded me of Veronica sort of. And Veronica reminds me of those old Archie comics (Veronica was not the nicest character). I know it's a long story, but I just don't love the name. What I do appreciate about it is how elegant it sounds. Very classic. Kentigern, hmmm. I for one have never heard this name. Kent sure, but Kentigern? It's a little long and overdone for a baby don't you think. Maybe more fitting for an older lord of some castle. In fact, the baby name book notes that this name was "medieval and rarely found later" - which is perhaps why it's new to me. What do you think? For some baby names that aren't so medieval read 10 Ways to Find the Perfect Baby Name.
