Well, I was so excited to post the Macy's sale, I forgot about our weekly random names. Until now... Baby boy name: Lyde; from the Old English, hlith, 'hill' Baby girl name: Genevieve; French, from the German geno, 'race' and wefa, 'woman' thus womankind. Personally, I think Genevieve is a mouthful, it's pretty, but try saying it fast. My main issue with Genevieve is that people will shorten it to things like Jenny, or Gen, which is not cool (IMO). Not a bad name, it just comes with issues. Lyde is new to me. I'm not sure if I'm pronouncing it correctly in my head either. If I am, I think I like it. But then, it could sound different. I think baby name books should always offer a pronunciation key. What do you think of this week's names?
