Calcium does many good things for a pregnant body and the baby you're growing. A glass of milk is a quick calcium fix. Studies have found that mamas who get more calcium during pregnancy have significantly higher bone density than mamas who don't get their daily calcium requirements. Your bone health is important now and later in life, so it pays to get your calcium. The recommended amount for a pregnant mama is 2,000 mg per day. If you hate the taste of milk (like me - blah) try mixing in some chocolate or whip up a fruit smoothie. If you're lactose intolerant, you've got plenty of calcium rich food options.
