I seriously can't remember last weeks random names. Maybe I'm losing my memory in my advanced age :) Baby boy name: Neil; from the Gaelic names Niul and Niall, from niadh, 'champion', or from the Old Norse name, Niel, a form of Nicholas. Baby girl name: Esther; from the Hebrew, hadassah, 'myrtle'; or, less likely, from the Persian, esthar, 'star'. Two old fashioned sounding names today. I like Neil a little. I wouldn't name a baby Neil, but I don't hate it either. It's on the brink of my brain to say that I knew a cool Neil, but I'm not sure (yes, the old age memory deal again.) As for Esther; well, Esther is odd. It's either very old fashioned - too old fashioned, or utterly hip. I think it depends on who gets the name. While I wouldn't personally choose it, I think on the right girl it could be great. What do you think?
