If you want to raise a positive confident child, start early....
Believe in your baby no matter what: All babies are different. Some develop skills slower or quicker than others. Your baby may be a lot like you or
completely different. No matter what your baby is like
love him and believe in his personal potential. Individuality is a good thing.
Make eye contact: Eye contact is a big deal for many adults and most likely for tots as well. Making eye contact while
talking to your baby, dressing him, or playing tells him you're there and interested in his world.
Allow adventures: A confident baby is allowed a certain amount of freedom. It's good to
baby proof, it's smart to keep an eye on your baby, but to support his confidence you should also allow him some safe exploring and alone playtime.
Try not saying no: No is not only a negative word that kids hear way too often, but it undermines your child's ideas. Read
Words to use instead of NO! for some yes-minded ideas.
Be positive and confident: Kids latch on to some of our insecurities. Try to promote a positive outlook and be confident in your own abilities so that your baby mimics that behavior vs. a down on himself behavior.
