Does what you eat while you're pregnant affect your future baby's eating habits? According to a new study published in the FASEB Journal online, it might. The study was conducted on rats and concluded that children of mothers who eat high sugar and high fat diets during pregnancy might have brain changes that affect their eating habits.
"These results will help us to better help women about diet during pregnancy and breastfeeding for giving their infants the best start in life," said Beverly Muhlhausler, Ph.D., co-author of the study from the FOODplus Research Centre in the School of Agriculture Food and Wine at the University of Adelaide in Adelaide, Australia.
