Would you use an inflatable booster seat?

I was checking out new baby gear online when I came across something that made me look twice: An inflatable booster seat. Yes, you read that correctly. A booster seat that literally inflates with air and when not in use, folds up so small that you can carry it in your purse. The company that created Easycareseat, Gumotex, notes that it's a high backed booster seat that complies with all U.S. and European car seat laws. Specifics:
  • Age: Use for children four years and older
  • Weight range: 33-80 pounds
  • Size: Weighs less than 2.5 pounds and fits into a handbag
  • Inflates in 30 seconds
I've never heard of such a thing and I'll admit that it's hard to wrap my mind around the idea of an inflatable car seat. At the same time, the company manufactures inflatable boats. And if you think about it, those can withstand an incredible amount of pressure and wear. Consider the boats used in white water rafting. Following is a video from the company website, showing how the Easycarseat inflates. So, what do you think? Would you consider using an inflatable car seat? More on car seats
