The Centers for Disease Control shared its 2010 breastfeeding report card, highlighting the breastfeeding rate at birth, three months, six months and 12 months in each state. The following graphic shows the percentage of mothers still breastfeeding their babies at six months of age. The CDC found that 75% of new moms begin breastfeeding. However, by the time babies reach six months of age, only 43% of moms were still breastfeeding. (And only 13% were exclusively breastfeeding). CBS News created a state-by-state slideshow to break down the percentage of moms still breastfeeding when their babies are 12 months old. Check it out if you'd like to see how your state measures up.
