This week we had our last baby shower. It wasn't held at my house this time. All we had to do was show up. It was such a relief not to worry about cleaning my house, so it'll probably stay messy from this point on, but I'm too tired to be concerned about it. The shower was really nice. I got to see some cousins that I only see about once a year. There were three of us there that were pregnant, which was pretty exciting. We received almost everything we need for the baby. The only major item left to buy is our glider and ottoman, which we'll hopefully buy within the next few days.
I set out to do my "thank you's" immediately after the shower, and got them finished within a few days. I also spent that time washing all the baby clothes, sheets and towels, and getting things organized in the nursery. After two days of that, I was exhausted! Now I need to begin addressing baby announcements.
Several people told me that I was very small for being due in one more month. I said "thank you," but of course it made me start wondering if my baby will be a healthy weight. Ironic, after I spent so much time at the beginning worrying that we'd have a 9 pound baby, like my husband and I both were. A cashier at Target the other day asked how old my baby was, and I said "I haven't had him yet," and she looked shocked. I guess that's good, but I'm not really sure how to take those comments.
