It's true. The occurance of this is guesstimated at about once in every 200 million births. I don't know that I've ever heard of this -- it's a very special baby event. The mama is from Austria. She conceived naturally and her three baby girls (Zoe, Kim and Amy) were delivered by cesarean last Monday. Each baby was around 3.3 pounds and are on ventilators just until it's clear that they'll be fine without the additional support. All three babies and the mama are noted as doing well though. Most of the time two babies in a set of triplets may be identical but not all three. What happens for three to be identical is the mamas egg divides in two and than one of them divides again; creating three tiny identical babies. I think it's great news and I'm happy to hear that all four are doing well. Hopefully we'll get to see some pictures soon of these beat the odds babies.
