I actually was thinking fancy or colorful casual. I had no idea that there are companies who actually make theme birthday clothing for kids. 
I'm usually not a fan (much at all) of logo or theme kid clothing but these outfits are so cute that even I liked them. This very sweet A-Line Birthday Dress is from B Swanky Children's Boutique. It available (as seen here) for personalization and comes in an array of pretty pastels. I like the yellow one shown here but it also comes in pink, lavender, denim blue, and a great lime green gingham fabric. The design varies as well. The cupcake is adorable but they also have tiny gifts and party hats.
