In the previous post we looked at why some mamas with multiples don't breastfeed (or feel they can't) and discussed why that's ok; if it's best for you and your family and your stress level than seriously it is fine to use formula. There are mamas who have twins (or more) who do successfully breastfeed. Most of the women I've known who have breastfed multiples successfully experienced fairly uncomplicated pregnancies and got the right amount of support. Even if you have complications and still want to breastfeed you may be able to. Following are some resources you may want to look into.
- A huge selection of breastfeeding articles for mamas of multiples. Although many are relevant to twins not triplets or more they're still very useful.
- A breastfeeding resource that has someone available to answer questions about breastfeeding triplets.
- A great article from Mothering that lays out exactly how one mama breastfed her triplets until they weaned themselves.
- An article with illustrations of holding techniques while feeding twins.
