Sorry to be missing in action yesterday (cold) we'll have some extra posts today to make up the difference including some great mama recommended products and our first Little Monsters Contest entry! 301255_asleep_3.jpgBut first a quick note about sleeping on your left side during pregnancy. It is recommended that you sleep on your left side during pregnancy. Sleeping on your left side allows for the absolute maximum blood flow and nutrients to the placenta plus enhances your kidney function (great news for pregnancy). Sleeping on your back is out because it puts too much pressure on some important blood vessels and your back and spine. Tummy sleeping is.. well, good luck with that during pregnancy. I can sleep on either my right or left side so during pregnancy I didn't have any major issues. However some women like to sleep on only their right side or their back or tummy and it can be hard to adjust. It can really help to get a huge body pillow. They're fun to snuggle up with and you can place it in front or in back of you which can give the semi-illusion of sleeping on your back or tummy. Also good to note; it's not a crime if you sleep on your right side once in a while so if you need a break from the left side go ahead -- just be sure that most of your sleep time is on the left. Don't forget to enter Pregnancy & Baby's Little Monsters Contest -- you can win fabulous prizes that will help you preserve your digital memories!
