If you're a working mama - a working outside the home mama, I should say, then you'll have to deal with days when your baby may be too sick for child care. If you have a sick baby you can use Family Medical Leave (FMLA) if you work for a large enough company, and if you haven't already used up that time for the year. You can learn more about FMLA guidelines at OSHA. If you don't quilify you may be able to use your own sick days. That depends on your company though. The best thing to do is to know your company policies before you need to know them - this means before you go back to work. Know your partner's work policies as well, so you two can make a decision about who can stay home with your baby when he's sick.
