Free virtual work-at-home mom seminars

The United States Department of Labor, recently noted that the women's "work at home" movement is on the rise. According to Carrie Wilkerson, founder of The Barefoot Executive, one of many work-at-home resources for women, "The government's last major Current Population Survey shows that the number of self-employed women increased 63 percent from 1975 to 1990... a trend that's only grown stronger in more recent years." The Barefoot Executive is a resource for women who'd like to work at home. The program educates, coaches and advises work-at-home women (and those who want to be). The final goal is to help women to achieve both their personal and professional goals. The Barefoot Executive website perks include:

It's a safe bet that many of these women are also mamas. Being a work-at-home mama myself, I can say that it's not an easy choice, or one that removes the issue of being at home with your children, but it is a viable choice for some.
