There are a host of skin changes that pregnant women may go through. Skin changes can cause you to worry during pregnancy, but luckily, there are some you don't have to stress over, like... Red palms: Some women do get red palms during pregnancy, which can be somewhat alarming. Red palms are nothing to worry about though. Your hormones during pregnancy are increased and the extra estrogen can cause your palms and sometimes the bottom of your feet to become really red and itchy. The itchy might get you down, but this condition won't cause you or your baby any real harm. If the itching starts to get out of control, or the redness spreads to other parts of your body, talk to your pregnancy care provider. Don't use any over-the-counter medicated creams, without first talking to your care provider, because some aren't proven safe for pregnancy. Like most other skin conditions, red palms go away almost right away after you give birth, and won't leave any lasting effects on your skin.
