Store-bought toys can be cool, but sometimes not so cool as free stuff you already have at home. baby funClean laundry: Toss your clean baby into a pile of your clean freshly washed laundry. Ok don't toss him, but you get it. Babies LOVE warm laundry. It's bright, it smells great, and feels nice. This activity engages all your baby's senses. I don't suggest this activity for the drooling baby stage however; unless you like drool covered clothes. The laundry basket: Who knew babies and laundry items mix so well. Once Cedar could sit up, I used to put a blanket on the bottom of my basket, push Cedar all over the house, and he'd die laughing. As he got older, he'd climb in the basket, pull it over his head, and push toys around in it - much cheaper than a fancy baby wagon. You can also use a sturdy box. Measuring cups: Use as nesting cups or use in the bath (with supervision) as pour toys. Pots and spoons: Hand your baby a pot and wooden spoon and let him go to town. This oldie but goodie still entertains most babies. You: Never forget that you are your baby's best toy. Time you spend with your little one - singing, dancing, going on walks, or just talking, is more fun than any old toy. Your baby will learn way more from his time with you than from his blocks or baby "genius" toys.
