Even though I show newborn shoes here sometimes (I can't resist) - it's for the cute factor, not the need factor. baby_sneakers.jpgBaby shoes are fun, and are sometimes nice for a family photo, but your baby won't actually need shoes until he's about nine months to a year old. Once your baby is actively pulling himself up, and trying to cruse the living room, you can start looking at shoes. Once you get your baby shoes, you should allow him to go barefoot, or in socks, if he's inside and walking. He can balance better in bare feet (no slipping) which allows him to learn walking skills quicker. Shoes are very important for protecting little feet outside though. Unless you're in a safe patch of grass, like your own yard, your newly walking babe should wear shoes. Don't worry about arch support for your baby, but you should focus on really well made non-slip soles and flexibility.
