I saw this question a while ago in some magazine and more women said yes than no. I was wondering what you think. The gist is this - there's a stay at home parent in the home. Do you still hire a nanny or use daycare? Is this a good idea, or a waste of money? My take is a little different. Being a sahm who also works from home, I'd have to say yeah. If I had the extra cash, I might hire someone for a few hours a week, so that I could have some daytime work hours. Right now I work on the weekends when my ex has our son, and in the evenings after my son goes to bed. I spend days homeschooling and hanging with my boy. I would like a few more hours a week. I don't think extra help is bad. I would not move my son into outside the home day care though. He's going to summer camp a few days a week, but as a younger child, I wouldn't have sent him to daycare unless I was working or in school. In the original survey I saw, more mamas did say it's cool to hire a nanny, but not by much. Many sahm's said "NO!" What do you think?
