Some people criticize same sex couple with children; noting that that kids will turn out poorly. Is it true? Do kids in same sex couples suffer? No, it's not true. From first hand experience I've known perfectly adjusted children raised by same sex partners. Since you may not take my word for it though; there was a study done a few years back that complied the results of more than 15 studies of children raised in same sex households, and the study noted: Children in two parent families fare better than children in single parent families, and that included children raised by same sex couples. What matters way more than the sexual orientation of parents is seemingly the number of parents involved. The study showed that kids raised by two parents were better adjusted, had fewer psychological issues, and fewer discipline problems than kids raised by one parent. Now of course, being a single parent, the study has me a little concerned. What I think is that kids can be raised successfully by a single parent if other adults are involved as well. Which this study would point to. I don't adore my ex, but my son does see him. My son also sees other adults who are important frequently, which might be key to a successful single parent household. What do you think?
