When considering baby milestones don't forget that milestones are general guidelines only. Your baby may reach these milestones sooner or later than nine months.

baby milestones

Most babies will reach the following milestones at or around nine months of age:
  • Trying to crawl; although this can start out with your little one pivoting on his tummy or with some interesting baby butt shuffling across the floor.
  • Pulling his body up to a standing position - using some sort of support, like a table.
  • Passing items to you or back and fourth between his own two hands.
  • Putting a small item like cereal or a cookie in his mouth.
  • Reaching for you or someone else to pick him up.
  • Sitting unsupported for a few minutes.
  • Looking for sounds - such as, if a truck loudly passes outside your window, he will turn to find the source of the sound.
  • Imitating your facial expressions. If you say "Happy" and smile, so will your baby.
