Own a camera - you'll kick yourself if you don't. You can even ask for one on your baby shower registry. Take LOTS of photos. Learn how to take better baby photos. Hang a small calendar in the nursery. When your baby does something fantastic, jot it down so you don't forget. Later you can transfer memories into your baby's scrapbook. Leave a small journal in the living room, use this like you would the calendar above, to jot down memories and milestones. Take a monthly photo by an object. When my son was three days old, I took a picture of him by a teddy bear. Then each month after until he was a year old, I took another photo of him by the same bear. At the end of the year I had a full blown memory growth chart. When he was three days old, Cedar was actually smaller than the bear, by his first birthday, he was towering over the bear - it was pretty cool. Make a baby hand or footprint painting.
